LHP Telematics Adds Fleet Health Monitoring, Fault Prediction, and Outlier Analysis to Big Data Platform

LHP Telematics has added a Fleet Health Monitoring Dashboard that includes Fault Prediction and outlier analysis to its Big Data Platform for OEMs. The Fleet Health Monitoring Dashboard allows users to quickly and easily see the status of all assets in their fleet, and whether the asset is healthy, needs to be inspected, or requires immediate intervention. The Dashboard is based on reported faults, fault prediction, and data point outliers that have deviated from normal values. “These new tools show an OEM what data points are the leading indicators of future faults and how they should be monitored. The OEM can also choose which fault predictions they want to go live with based on accuracy of past predictions using the historical data. Equipment Intelligence Feature: Telematics Control Unit Inventory

Equipment Intelligence version 1.3.0.581 includes a redesigned telematics control unit (TCU) inventory system. Updates to the inventory system include a redesigned file import system, a bulk sell option, different return classifications, a TCU History section, and a generally more user-friendly feel.  The TCU Inventory system includes a new file import system for adding multiple TCUs at once. After uploading a .csv or .txt file, users can parse the file and identify the data so that it matches the categories used by Equipment Intelligence, such as TCU Name, Serial Number, and others. If there is an error in the original file, the system will indicate where the error is so that the user can correct it, copy and paste into a new .csv or .txt file, and then re-import the file.  TCUs can be sold down to sub-customer accounts, as well as returned back to the account that originally sold it. Equipment Intelligence version 1.3.0.578, released on July 18, includes updates to OEM Equipment Makes and Models and a redesign of the telematics control unit (TCU) inventory system.  OEM Equipment is now available to all customer account types, instead of just OEM accounts. Aliases can also be assigned to OEM Equipment Makes and Models. Aliases make sure that when assets are being pulled in via AEMP data feeds, the correct make and model are assigned. For example, if the feed pulls in a make that’s John Deere, but your make is set up as JD, John Deere would be an alias of JD.  The telematics control unit (TCU) inventory has also been redesigned, making it more user-friendly. TCUs can be imported into the system one by one, or by importing a CSV or txt file. TCUs can also be bulk sold down to a sub-customer, and users are able to classify returns as a regular return, or lost or broken. This will help keep returned and RMA TCUs separate and easy to track. Equipment Intelligence: Maintenance

With our most recent feature release for Equipment Intelligence, version 1.1.1.136, we have continued to make updates to our Maintenance system. Maintenance is now tied to Asset Types, Equipment Models, Asset Groups, and Jobsites. When creating maintenance plans that are tied to jobsites, you first select an Asset Type (or OEM Equipment Model), then create the maintenance plan. The plan is then applied only to the assets in the jobsite that have the selected asset type. A Maintenance tab has also been added to the Fleet Jobsite pages, so that when an asset enters a pending or overdue maintenance state, you can see those instances from the Jobsites page.  All maintenance instances are completed from the asset’s Performance Report page. When completing a maintenance instance, you can mark the different Maintenance Items as Completed, Ignored, or Deferred. Big Data Reports: Thirty Day Telematics by Attribute

Continuing our series on the reports available as part of our Big Data Services, we’ll be looking at the Thirty Day Telematics by Attribute report.  The Thirty Day Telematics by Attribute report allows you to select a specific attribute (or data point or fault) and then the report charts every reading for that attribute across your entire fleet over a thirty-day period. Each line in the report represents a specific asset. The report shown below shows the readings from every asset for the attribute J1939_110_ENGINE_COOLANT_TEMP. This report is useful for charting attributes and data points across a thirty-day period, to look for anomalies or commonalities between assets.  The report can be filtered by make, model, and year of equipment. Big Data Reports: Pattern Analysis

Continuing our series on the reports available as part of our Big Data Services, we’ll be looking at the Pattern Analysis Report.  The Pattern Analysis Report looks at how often one attribute is followed by another. The patterns are listed in the format <Code 1><Code 3>, where Code 1 was reported and was then followed by Code 3 at a later time. The Pattern Frequencies bar graph at the top of the page charts how many machines reported a particular pattern. For example, 72 machines reported a <Battery Potential / Power Input> code followed by a <Engine Protection Torque Derate> code. You can click on a specific pattern to filter the Time Span graph and Affected Machines list. The Time Span graph plots the time span, in days, between the first fault and the final fault for each asset that experienced the selected pattern. The Affected Machines list shows the machine ID, date of the first fault, and date of the second fault for each asset that reporte ...

Big Data Reports: Attribute Usage

Continuing our series on the reports available as part of our Big Data Services, we’ll be looking at the Attribute Usage Report.  This report displays how many times an attribute, or data point, was recorded across your entire fleet over time. You can select the attribute and the number of times the attribute was reported by any asset in your fleet is charted. The Y-Axis plots how many times the attribute was reported while the X-Axis plots the date.  In the example below, Engine Oil Pressure is plotted across a year of time. The Attribute Usage report can be helpful for determining if all systems on the equipment are reporting correctly, as well as being able to understand if an attribute is relevant for further analysis.  For more information on our Big Data Services, contact us at sales@lhptelematics.com. 

Big Data Reports: Asset Faults

Continuing our series on the reports available as part of our Big Data Services, we’ll be looking at the Asset Faults Report.  The Asset Faults Report shows how many faults were reported across your fleet, as well as the frequency of individual faults. The top graph lists the assets that have reported faults and how many faults they reported. The bottom graph lists the faults that were reported, as well as how many times the faults have been reported. Clicking an asset in the top graph will filter the bottom graph to show the faults that the selected asset reported, as well as how many times the asset has reported those faults. This report would be useful for identifying assets reporting a high number of faults, or determining the most commonly reported faults as a way to begin discussion on how to lower how often those faults occur. Big Data Reports: Error Exploration

Continuing our series on the reports available as part of our Big Data Services, we’ll be looking at the Error Exploration Report.  The Error Exploration report allows you to explore different occurrences of SPNs (error codes) across your fleet over time. The top graph lists SPNs on the left, and plots the assets that have reported the SPNs across time on the right. The bottom graph lists the number of SPN reports along the Y axis and the date of an SPN report along the X axis.  Clicking a SPN name in the top graph will filter the bottom graph to show only the assets that have reported that SPN. In the report below, the error code for Engine Crankcase Pressure has been selected in the top graph, which means the bottom graph shows those assets that have reported that error code. You can see that, out of the assets that have reported the error code, most have reported it around 50 times, with a couple that have reported it over 100 times.  This repor ...

Big Data Reports: SPN Occurrence Count

The next report in our series on the Big Data Reports we offer is the SPN Occurrence Count report.  The SPN Occurrence Count Report lists all SPNs, or faults, that have been reported for your fleet. It also includes keeps a count of how often the faults occur for your entire fleet. The SPN that has been reported the most is listed at the top of the graph, while the SPN that has been reported the least is listed at the bottom.  You can also click individual SPNs to analyze and compare to the other reported SPNs.  This report is useful for determining the most common faults that are reported across your entire fleet.
